Garment Care
Care for your clothing, and it will care for you.
Every Eva Cassis piece is designed to be worn, loved, and treasured for years to come. We work exclusively with natural, certified sustainable fibres — like linen, cotton, and silk — which not only feel beautiful on the body, but also age gracefully when properly cared for.
Slow fashion begins with thoughtful choices, and continues with gentle maintenance. Below, you’ll find our simple guide to help extend the life of your garments.
🌿 General Care Tips
- Wear more, wash less: Natural fabrics benefit from airing between wears. Try hanging your garment in fresh air before tossing it in the wash.
- Spot clean when possible: A gentle dab on a small mark can help avoid unnecessary laundering.
- Use a laundry bag: Especially for lightweight or delicate items — this protects against tangling and abrasion.
🫧 Washing Instructions
Most Eva Cassis garments can be gently hand-washed or cold machine-washed on a delicate cycle with other delicates. Avoid adding any garments with zippers or hardware in the same cycle if you choose to machine wash.
- Turn garments inside out
- Use mild, eco-friendly detergent (no bleach or optical brighteners)
- Wash in cold water only
- Do not wring or twist
Avoid dry cleaning unless specified — it's often unnecessary for natural fibres and can be harsh on the planet (and your garment).
☀️ Drying
- Reshape while damp and lay flat or hang in the shade
- Avoid direct sunlight, which can fade natural dyes
- Never tumble dry — it can shrink or warp natural fibres
🧺 Ironing & Steaming
Natural fabrics like linen and cotton will have a soft, relaxed crinkle — we embrace this as part of their beauty.
- If needed, iron inside out on low to medium heat
- A handheld steamer is a gentle alternative and ideal for refreshing garments between wears
🪡 Hand-Frayed & Embroidered Pieces
Our hand-frayed and hand-embroidered linen scarves are delicate by nature.
- Always hand wash gently in cold water
- Lay flat to dry
- Store rolled or folded in a drawer or linen pouch to avoid snagging
🧥 Storage
- Store in a cool, dry place
- Avoid wire hangers — use padded or wooden ones to preserve shape
- Give garments breathing room — no overpacking!
For seasonal items, store them clean and dry, away from light and moisture. Natural fibres need airflow — we don’t recommend vacuum-sealing.
